Neil Parker is a communications professional with more than 20 years experience advising clients on media relations, messaging, crisis management and communications effectiveness.
As principal of NPCommunications, Neil has developed and implemented media, internal communications, crisis and training programs for clients including Nasdaq, Pacific Gas & Electric, UBS, Fluor Corporation, American Library Association, Southern California Edison, A.T. Kearney Consulting, City Colleges of Chicago, Aptar Group and many other companies, government agencies and non-profit organizations.
Neil’s workshops help clients identify relevant messages for stakeholder groups and assure that senior executives and other spokespersons successfully manage communications opportunities for both internal and external audiences. Neil’s training program is designed to show clients how to deliver credible and consistent messages through presentations, media interviews, public meetings and social media platforms.
Previously, Neil was Managing Director of the Media Practice of Burson-Marsteller Chicago, a global firm where clients included Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and public sector organizations. Among them were Merrill Lynch, Accenture, Astra Zeneca, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Hormel Foods, Delphi Corporation, Unilever, Experian Americas and Canaccord.
Neil began his career as a broadcast journalist. He was news director, anchor and reporter for WXRT Radio for 19 years and assignment editor and news writer at WBBM-TV/CBS, both in Chicago.
Neil holds a B.A. in journalism and telecommunications from Michigan State University.
